Ian Steele: Biography
Ian Steele a Canadian artist, born in Saskatchewan but raised on the West Coast. he graduated from Vancouver School of Art in 1961, specialising in ceramics, and then travelled to St Ives to apprentice with Bernard Leach for two years, 1963-65, and worked as a staff potter from 1967-69. He returned to Canada to run his own pottery at Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island but came back in 1977 to live and work in Chudleigh, Devon.
His work is held in private collections in Canada, France and the United Kingdom.
